Ron Fidler – Commissioner

Ron Fidler - Commissioner - Manitoba Police Commission - Government of Manitoba

Fidler was born and raised in Opaskwayak Cree Nation and is currently working with the First Nations of Northern Manitoba Child and Family Services Authority as a Community Relations Advisor. In 1992, Ron began his career with the Opaskwayak Cree Nation in Law Enforcement working as a Police Officer and successfully completed his recruit and other specialized training with the Brandon Police Service. In 1995, he joined the Dakota Ojibway Police Service and was assigned to the Roseau River First Nation where he remained until 1997. He has acted as an Advisory Member of the Northwest Law Enforcement Training Academy in Winnipeg where young aboriginal students are trained and prepare for a career in Law Enforcement. Ron finished his law enforcement career in Opaskwayak Cree Nation. Over the years he has been selected to participate on numerous boards and committees and has received many awards.
